Today Macau is a Special Administrative Region of the Peoples Republic of China, and, like Hong Kong, benefits from the principle of "one country, two systems". The tiny SAR is growing in size - with more buildings on reclaimed land - and in the number and diversity of its attractions. The greatest of these continues to be Macaus unique society, with communities from the East and West complementing each other, and the many people who come to visit.

TEMPLE OF A-MA (WORLD HERITAGE)

Macau name is derived from A-Ma-Gau or Place of A-Ma and this temple dedicated to the seafarers goddess dates from the early 16th century. The festival of A-Ma takes place on the 23rd day of the 3rd moon (April or May). Firecrackers, to scare away evil spirits, are exploded in the entrance courtyard to greet tour groups and lions dances are performed here on weekends.

RUINS OF ST.PAUL’S CATHEDRAL

The Ruins of St. Pauls refer to the facade of what was originally the Church of Mater Dei, destroyed by fire in 1835, and the ruins of St. Pauls College, which stood adjacent to the Church. As a whole, the old
Church of Mater Dei, St. Pauls College and Mount Fortress were all Jesuit constructions and formed what can be perceived as the Macaus "acropolis". Nowadays, the facade of the Ruins of St. Pauls functions symbolically as an altar to the city. This site has been officially inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2005.

The first ever themed entertainment attraction in the tourism industry of Macau, Macau Fishermans Wharf is centrally located at Macau’s outer harbor. The total investment of the project is anticipated to reach HKD1.9 billion. The project occupies an area of over 93,000m2, combining entertainment, retail, food, hotel, marina, convention and exhibition facilities in one place.

MACAU TOWER CONVENTION & ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE

Macau Tower is one of the famous sightseeing attractions; the main observation level is 223M above ground, tourist can look for Macau’s landmarks and historical sites over the observation deck level. You can enjoy dining, shopping and entertainment inside the Tower, included indoor observation deck, outdoor adventure view deck, Skywalk X, 360 Café, 180 Lounge & Grill, AJ Hackett, conference and banquet and basement shopping area.

*The Macau City Tour ends with the last stop at a Cake and Souvenir shop. Dropping off can be at any of the Macau city hotels or ferry terminal.
